I will not deny that I was once a Patriots fan. In my defense, it was way before the Kraft, Belicheck, Brady era. The Schaefer Stadium days, IYKYN. Never set foot in the new one. However, for one month, I found myself on a farm in Foxboro MA not long after the new one was built.
The dairy farm, the last one left in Norfolk County, was run by a man and his daughter who were descendants of the people who founded it in 1736. The father was an authentic Swamp Yankee, if you know what I mean.
I was repairing some stuff that he couldn't get to, barn floors, doors, roofs, etc. One day, I was on the roof of the main barn with my teenaged son, it was about the time The Pats were starting to really take off. From up there we could see the stadium which was 500 yards away or so. We got to talking about the Pats and I discovered he cared about them about as much as I did which was very little. We got some good chuckles when I told him about how the old Swamp Yankee had thwarted Kraft's plans for an access road which would crossed his land. We bonded over that, how the little guy stuck it to the big guy.
Seventeen years later, as I was talking to him today, we had little to say about the Super Bowl or the Pats but the theme of the little guy against the big guy is alive and well.
127 million Americans watched Bad Bunny's half-time Super Bowl Show, while 4 million tuned into the alternative, Kid Rock show. And then The Seahawks kicked the living hell out of the Patriots. Not a bad night for the righteous.
Enjoy the Super Bowl! I hope your Seahawks win!
Enjoy.
I am.
Bad Bunny did a cleansing. ππͺΆπ
On account of Canadian in-laws, I'm watching mixed-doubles curling rather than the Super Bowl. Go Team USA!
Go Hawks!

Iβve been on that bus in Hawk Alley! What a party that is!! Crazy that you got married there!
Proudly wearing my Nick Emmanwori jersey today--finslly lots of good D jerseys to choose from! And what a brilliant game by the defense today!
It was a dominant win. Congratulations Seahawks!
(We were rooting for them since I was a postdoc at UW back in the late 80s and attended a few games.)
Hey Angela, fish, fish you got your wish. Congrats Dr Angela on that Seahawks win!
