TAKING SHOTS with Dr. Angela Rasmussen and Jessica Malaty Rivera: Follow-Up to Casey Means' HELP Committee

Write or call your Senator to tell them that we insist on a Surgeon General who is actually qualified for the job

I chose a thumbnail for this video that would reflect me and Jessica Malaty Rivera, MS’s expert opinion on Casey Means’ qualifications based on our facial expressions.

Casey Means is, in fact, unqualified and there’s still so much more to unpack about why her and her aspiring colleagues need to GO.

Contact your Senators now (ESPECIALLY if you live in Louisiana, Alaska, or Maine) and tell them that Casey Means cannot become the Surgeon General of the United States.

We are so grateful to work with The Save America Movement (SAM) to fight back against the grave threat that the MAHA and MAGA movements present to our public health and our democracy. Please join us!

We’ll be doing a lot more talking about why you should join us going forward. And MARK YOUR CALENDARS for MARCH 18 and 19!

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) will be reconvening (maybe…you never know if the Clown Car will actually manage to show up). We will be back to cover that, this time with more of our colleagues and SAM friends. Let us know what worked and could be better from the Means hearing!

Also, if you’ve never attended an ACIP meeting before (and why would you if you don’t work in this space), you should know they are very long and in the before-times were quite boring (because they actually worked due to their reliance on expertise). Not so much anymore. If anything, you should pop in to get my take on ACIP Vice Chair Robert Malone’s evident benign prostate hyperplasia, expert liaisons getting caught on a hot mic calling Retsef Levi an idiot, and ACIP member Joseph Hibbeln’s righteous fury about the departure from the prior frameworks for converting evidence into policy recommendations.

So get your popcorn ready!
